The last names of Helen, Irving, and Jacqueline are Abrams, Barrow, and Clancy, but not necessarily in that order.Clancy is Jacqueline’s uncle, Helen’s last name is not Barrow. What are each person’s first and last names?
YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CHART AND ON ONE SIDE WRITE DOWN ALL THE FIRST NAMES AND ON THE TOP OF THE CHART PUT THE LAST NAMES.aFTER YOU HAVE TO USE THE CLUES TO FIGURE OUT THE ANSWER.
Special recognition goes to Noa and Maital for being the first to comment. The suggestion that Noa made is called a matrix. This is an excellent strategy for ruling out possibilities.
Ya i agree w/ both of them. What you do is make a matrix chart. You put the first names on the top and the last names on the side. Then look in the hints for clues you could use to eliminate one of the possible last names. It is also like process of elimination.
i agree with maital as not to get them confused with the names and then i would each last name under every person so it would be like HELLEN barrow and so on then since it cant be barrow for helen i would cross out barrow.
I agree with everyone so far by making a chart for the possible answer but another thing that helped me was by writing everyone down and go slow name by name and it made a spark to me
I also agree with every body. It is much easier to write it down on paper by using a matrix. Ethan also has a point that Irving is the only boy so he has to be Jacqueline's uncle which makes his last name Clancy.

What i do first is write them all down. Then i don't have to look back at the paper and get confused with everything else.

The question is not that hard, but you have take some time to make a graph it is hard to do it in your head
THE FIRST THING YOU DO IS MAKE A CHART. THEN MARK OFF HELEN TO BARROW.
the first thing you do is make a chart and cross off Helen to barrow.

i agree that you should make a chart for finding the answer.
